Congratulations to our very own, Miranda Soucie, and her AAJ Regional Trial Team from the University of Illinois College of Law on winning the American Association of Justice Regional in Louisville, Kentucky this last weekend. Not only did one of the Illinois teams win the competition, but additionally, a second Illinois team also made it to the preliminary round, leaving with a commendable 2-1 record.
The team, coached by Miranda, will advance to the national finals in New Orleans, Louisiana from March 31 – April 3. We are so proud of all your dedication and investment in the future lawyers of Illinois, Miranda. Best wishes to your team in New Orleans!

Illinois College of Law Trial Team Caps Successful Spring Competitions becoming AAJ Regional Champions
University of Illinois College of Law students Akil Craig, Dawanna McCray, Steven Hurbis and Titus Potter won the American Association of Justice Regional in Louisville, Kentucky on March 13 with a final round victory over Belmont Law School, last year’s national AAJ runner-up. The Illinois team advanced to semi-finals as the #4 seed but upset #1 Notre Dame to advance to the finals. Closely following was Illinois second team of Tim Kraft, Sam Chen, Brittany Nelson and Emily Young who were also 2-1 in preliminary round trials. The AAJ team advances to national finals in New Orleans, Louisiana from March 31 – April 3. The AAJ trial team is coached by Adjunct Professor Miranda Soucie.
