The team at Spiros Law, P.C. is proud of the recent victory secured by attorney Sandra Loeb on behalf of our client in Kankakee. The client was injured on July 3rd, 2012 while performing her duties as an overnight stocker for Walmart, when she felt something in her back “pop” as she was unloading a pallet of sugar. Our client suffered multiple health issues as a result of the workplace injury, including lumbar strain, lumbar radiculopathy, and lumbar stenosis. She was forced to endure painful injections, surgeries, and undergo physical therapy for years after the incident. When her employer terminated temporary and total disability benefits and stopped paying for medical expenses on April 27th, 2017, incorrectly claiming that she had reached maximum medical improvement and could return to work, she turned to Spiros Law, P.C. for help.
In arbitration, it was determined that the client was temporarily and totally disabled, and ordered her employer to pay her medical expenses, which included a spinal cord stimulator implant and 243 additional weeks of workers’ compensation benefits. We applaud the hard-fought battle that Sandra put up for her client, and we are satisfied that fair compensation was ultimately awarded.
